Description
Vintage Western Electric D1 Model 202 (I think) telephone with 684 BA Subscriber Set. The phone has a clicking dial (Model 4H?) with original dial insert showing old-timey telephone numbers for City Cab, Fire, and Police. Oval metal base wired to Bakelite plastic subscriber set containing the ringer and electrical components that connect the desk set with the telephone network. Cool Bakelite plastic "spit cup" mouthpiece with F1 transmitter. The combined weight of the phone and subscriber set is about 6.5 pounds before packaging.Disclaimer: I gleaned the information above through visual inspection and internet searches. If you have specific questions, I'll try and answer them, but I'm not very versant in vintage telephones. Please let me know if you would like me to send you photographs of specific portions of the telephone and/or subscriber set.
This telephone appears to be in Good Condition. The dial works and makes a satisfying clicking sound and retains an old insert with interesting telephone numbers. The hookswitch plunger works. The cords are in great shape, probably replaced at some time in the past. The cord coming out of the subscriber set has been cut off, and I have no means to test the telephone to see if it works.
