Vintage Ivory Automatic Electric Monophone Rotary Telephone Gold Plated AE40

Description

This is a hard to find phone in a rare color.
Sold 1939-1950s
Bakelite
Gold plated trim
deluxe extension cord
It is in original condition and has not been modified
please note I have not opened the phone to look inside so I can't speak to the condition of the interior
Condition Issues:
1) The handset cradle shows wear and some goop or crust stuck to it
2) The phone smells likes old plastic and its a bit funky (similar to what an old tool box or old dolls can smell like). After cleaning the phone the smell has lessened significantly. If the phone is cleaned thoroughly the smell should be gone.
3) The gold trim ring on the mouth piece doesnt screw on securely possibly because the handset appears to be slightly out of shape.
4)Cords are old and fraying at some spots - it needs to be rewired if it is going to be used as a working phone anyway
5) Gold plating shows age and there is yellowing of the Bakelite
Please examine the photos carefully in case I have missed something.  I have not tried to use the phone as the wiring is in correct for modern use
