    Description

This Western Electric 565HK six button phone has been restored with it's parts as found.  The older style open center finger wheel, dial card and the designation strip are all the vintage originals.  Most components are from 1965, with white ABS plastics updated in 1973 during a refurbishment. The base is dated 5/66, the 425e network dated 6/65, the C4a one bell business phone ringer dated II/65, and the 7H-58 dial dated 6/65.  This phone has been brought back to its original bright white color from it's discolored yellow-tan with a repair of a deep crack in the left front corner. I repaired the damage using plastic removed from internal ribs to provide needed ABS
    filler
material  which was chemically bonded and filled into the defect.  Slight imperfections left from the ABS filler were filled with multiple layers of enamel paint buffed off the smooth surface of the phone.
From the outside, I believe the repair is invisible. Epoxy and vinyl mesh were then applied to the inside of the shell to prevent future cracking.
This case was likely replaced when the phone was refurbished in 1973 and is dated 1973, with handset and caps from 1968-71.  The handset elements are from 4/64 and 5/66.
This phone comes with a Western Electric 77A side button module sometimes found on such office phones.
I have replaced the missing thick 25 line cord on this business phone with a thick white repurposed data cable ending in a new, painted junction box.
This phone has been completely rewired so that the 6 buttons no longer control phone function. This phone is fully functional for making and receiving calls.  A 9 volt transformer lights the buttons so that pushing them when the phone is off the hook will light each up--the red hold button releases the others and the sixth button is a signal button that lights only when depressed.  I have also added (just for fun) a modern pizo-electric buzzer that will beep loudly when the 77aA button is held down and will stop when released
. The "alarm" designation strip is a custom reproduction.  The transformer is not needed for phone function--only for the lights and the buzzer.  I have included a modern cord with a RJ11 plug to fit a modern phone jack from the junction box.
Please see all pictures and ask any questions.
I would be happy to install a custom dial card with your own letters and numbers for this phone in place of the one pictured--I have these listed separately, just purchase and message me.
FULLY FUNCTIONAL with disclaimer: This phone will work (ring, answer, and call) on a standard landline that supports pulse dialing.  I have tested it on my residential Spectrum Cable line that supports multiple vintage phones. The best way to make sure it will work at your location is to currently have a rotary phone. If not, it is always a good idea to call your local phone company and check if your "service still supports pulse dialing from an old rotary phone".  If your phone service does, great. If it does not, your phone will not be able to place calls without a converter. These are available on ebay and elsewhere for purchase.
RESTORATION is meant to restore the phone to how it may have looked in use. There will be no cracks or gouges but signs of use and slight color variations may remain as each phone is unique and not presented as mint or new.
For example there may be small scratches or nicks around high use areas like the handset cradle where removing them through more sanding might change the contour of the phone.
In particular to this phone, the plastics have some nicks  and  some light scratches, the clear finger wheel is aged in color with some stress cracks near the finger stop.
The phone has been chemically cleaned inside and out, removed of rust, dust and grime.   Wired to work on a landline, this phone has been tested, then polished through several steps.   I have taken multiple pictures of this phone inside and out because I have learned the hard way when buying phones. I always pop them open because seeing is better than wishful thinking. Please see pictures as part of the description and ask any questions before purchase.
PACKING will be done well:  Many sellers believe vintage phones are indestructible, but they are very heavy and their plastic can be easily cracked by their own weight.  I will pack the handset separate from the chassis and bubble wrap both parts well.
North Carolina SALES TAX will be added.
    Stored and Packaged smoke free.
For Domestic buyers, I am happy to offer combined shipping at USPS rates.  Please use your shopping cart after you commit to buy by auction or buy it now.  Then make sure to use the "request total" in the right upper corner of my seller's window in your cart.  Please wait for an invoice BEFORE paying to get a combined shipping discount.
For international buyers, I use ebay's Global Shipping program which uses a third- party shipper who offers combined shipping with

If you are an international buyer and buy multiple items, ebay will allow me to combine your purchases into one box for shipment ONLY if you wait to pay for all of your purchases at the same time using your shopping cart. Please note that ebay uses the combined weights of all the individual items to calculate combined shipping. Unfortunately, ebay will not allow me to offer any further discount on international shipping beyond the saving of shipping one package.
