This is a lovely hard to find antique
American figural napkin ring
c1880 which has two pheasants circling around each other on a cone shaped basewith the napkin holder above them on a pedestal.  The detail is excellent, on the birds the ring and on the base.
I have a lot more "figural napkin rings and toothpick holders for sale". Just search for last eight words on google. I'm thinking of leaving ebay.
What is especially nice about this ring is that it in monogrammed on the inside of the napkin holder. That would have been an amazing feat in the 1860/70s. See last photo below.
It is marked as made by Meriden Silverplate Co. with the production/pattern/patent number 271.
It is shown in the book by Gottschalk and Whitson, on page 103, in plate241. It quite rare, even though G&W valued it at 0-350 in 1996. It sold for 35.25 in a Dallas auction in 2011. See photos.
This figural napkin ring is in
excellent condition
.
I have not polished it, or washed it. Looks to have been resilvered. Some dings here and there.
Please look at the photos (which form part of the description) and ask any questions if you have any concerns.
