    Description

    This is a fabulous and
    rare
figural napkin ring made in the USA c1870 which has a large bird (stork, heron, crane?) walking with ring on its back.
    It is absolutely lovely.
    Very detailed.
It is marked Simpson Hall Miller & Co. 013 underneath.
It is shown in the book by Gottschalk and Whitson, "
Figural Napkin Rings: Collectors Identification and Value Guide
" on page 115 in Plate 274. They valued it at under 0- 0 in 1996. They say it is marked Simpson Hall Miller &Co. 012 but this is marked SHM&Co 013. I have found on Internet that 013 is correct number and in a recent sale it sold for 0 +20% = 90 + expensive shipping.
This napkin ring does not appear very often so is very rare, especially in this sort of condition......EXCELLENT!
    This figural napkin ring is
    in excellent condition
    .
I have not cleaned it in any way. As arrived.
Please look at the photos (which form part of the description) and ask any questions if you have any concerns.
